The Passing of Krishna das Upchurch
Sadly, little Krishna das left this world today, hopefully to pass on to a better one. He passed peacefully, and now our job is to support Kim & Phil in this time of unfathomable grief.

A Life Worth Celebrating
Hello everyone,
I am new to the blogosphere, so please bear with me. I have created this blog in hopes of raising funds for four-year-old Krishna das Upchurch (my best friend's son & my Godson) and his family. In the midst of this most joyous time of wedding planning, we received tragic news. Krishna das was brought to Children's Memorial Hospital with an upset stomach and dehydration. The test results proved devastating. It is now believed that he has terminal metastatic cancer. (We are awaiting confirmation from a biopsy.) Krishna das' mother, Kimberly (or Kim or Kirtida), and I have been best friends since the third grade. For those of you counting, that's about twenty-four (24!) years. She and her husband, Phil (or Sevananda), are going through one of the roughest times of their lives and need our support both emotionally and financially. In lieu of a cash gift for our upcoming wedding, we are asking folks to consider making a donation to help the Upchurches through this most difficult of times. Staying at the hospital around the clock with their young son does not afford Kim or Phil the luxury of earning a regular paycheck. Because Kim started teaching in the middle of the school year, she receives no deferred summer pay. Please help in any way that you can. I am sure you realize that every penny helps. We also ask that you keep the Upchurches in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you in advance for your generosity & support!
